Welcome to CyberWatch

CyberWatch has been set up in accordance with ACSC guidelines to help and educate the community. we host free pop-up programs for personal cybersecurity education throughout Tasmania. Where volunteers and the community can interact face-to-face with one other. Anyone in the community can make a reservation through the website if they need help.

Cyber Security is Everyone's Responsibility

Multi-factor authentication

We use multi-factor authentication (MFA) every day. we log in to apps and enter our username and password.
Then, we prove it’s really us, commonly by entering a code sent to our phone or email. This is a standard MFA process.

Passphrases vs Passwords

We recommend that you use passphrases, as they are longer and easier to remember than a password made up of random, mixed characters.
A passphrase is a memorized phrase consisting of a sequence of mixed words with or without spaces.

The Australian Signals Directorate's Australian Cyber Security Centre (ASD's ACSC) leads the Australian Government’s efforts to improve cyber security. Our role is to help make Australia the most secure place to connect online.

Updating your device's

Cybercriminals, malicious programs and computer viruses are always looking for ways into your devices.
One of the most common ways they do this is through exploiting weakness in software—also known as vulnerabilities.
